Photoshoping in After Effects

Have you ever missed Photoshop blending options like stroke, drop shadow, or gradient overlay when working with After Effects?

Many Photoshop users who just switched to After Effects complain about lack of blending options, especially the lack of stroke effect. Of course there is a Stroke effects in After Effects, but it works in different way than they’re used to.

To help all you Photoshopers out there I’ve prepared few presets, than will enable you to work in After Effects the same way you work in Photoshop.

Just go ahead and download the preset. After downloading make sure to unpack it to your After Effects preset directory, that by default is: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects 7.0\Support Files\Presets.These presets include:

Stroke effect
Drop shadow (with Spread parameter)
Gradient overlay

I wanted to put there Bevel and Emboss effect also, but there’s no need to make a preset for that, because all you have to do is to apply Alpha Bevel on a layer and you’ll get the same effect you’d get in Photoshop.

This tutorial was very helpful, thanks a lot!
after i saw this, i try to import all the blending options from photoshop, but only works well with drop shadow and irnner shadow (u need a alpha layer) but works pretty good

Stroke effect is just what I need to create sharp corners but CE Color Solid seems to be obsolete. Know any other effects which perform a fill with a “blend with orginal” option??

this tutorial is great it tray do it and i get alot of information in both photoshop and after effect this is a powerful tutorial you are a creative man you know i’m a biganer ans you are my teacher please don’t forget to put new tutorial you know i’m check your website every day to see if you but anew tutorials

Una pregunta soy de peru y me llamo danny, espero que puedan ayudarme gracias de ante mano, descarge los preset pero no me funciona el PS_Stroke, cada vez que lo aplico a una capa en after me sale un error que me dice “ESTE FAVORITO CONTIENE 1 REFERENCIA O UN EFECTO NO EXISTENTE. INSTALE EL EFECTO SIGUIENTE PARA RESTAURAR ESTA REFERENCIA. (CE COLOR SOLID)”, bueno ese es el mensaje que me sale, espero que puedan ayudarme por favor les agradesco de ante mano. saludos desde peru. bye bye.

Una preguntita amigos porsiacaso no tienen el efecto CE COLOR SOLID, porque es lo que me falta para que me funcione los efectos que descargue please se los suplicaria que si lo pudieran poner para poder descargarlo, muchas gracias, bye bye.

Creo que en efecto se dispone de CS2. Creo que fue sustituido por SÓLIDOS COMPOSITE. Trate de que su lugar.
