CE ColorCorrection
Learn how to change the look and feel of your footage easily with this useful CustomEffect. Color correction made easy… Finally!
Have you ever had to color correct a shot? I bet you did. Even small corrections are often required to make the shoot look better. And what about cinematic looks? I’m sure everyone has tried to recreate the “filmlook” on your own footage at least once. But wait… theres more… You can even color correct poorly balanced footage to restore original colors. Yep. CE ColorCorrector allows you do to all that in 5 easy steps or less.
CE ColorCorrector is a wrapper around Adobe Color Balance plugin. I’m not really sure if I got the math behind it right, but hey… it works for me. You can also use it along with Hue/Saturation, Curves and Levels for even more control over the look and feel of your footage. Happy color correcting.
This CustomEffect was build using After Effects CS3, but it should also work with CS2 or even 6.5 but I’m not sure about that.

Well… If you want to say “thank you” than just use that huge “PayPal donate” button. I don’t mean to pull your leg but I really need your support to make new tutorials and presets for you guys. I’m counting on your support.

Yes I am, but I’ve got so much work I didn’t start to work on it yet. But I promised myself that whatever happens it has to be released on 18 March 2008 - it will be a year from my first tutorial ever.

Hello Maltaannon,
Thanks for your contribution to the After Effects community. I’d like to point out that your Color Correction effect is exactly the same (inadvertently or otherwise) as Stu Maschwitz’s 3-way Color Corrector preset from 2005 (http://prolost.blogspot.com/2005/06/three-way-color-corrector-in-after.html), so decide for yourself whether or not your copyright is appropriate.

Oh. I see what you mean. Well… As Harry J Frank once said when he enlighten me that I inadvertently did a tutorial on something that he is selling - “Great minds think alike”.
I do my best not to duplicate someone else’s work. That is one of the reasons why my new tutorials are not coming out so often, but I simply can’t know every single piece that was published on After Effects, even thou I’d really like to.

Fantastic! Thanks from Canada!

Can you let me know from where can I download your 3D Camera Lighting Effects? Thanks in advance!
Vivek said this January 8th, 2008 at 12:45
Very impressive indeed!! I have downloaded the effect… thanks… In your demo I see many effects in your polygon studio folder… Are these downloadables on your site? Where??
Vivek said this January 18th, 2008 at 17:18

Did Anyone get this custom effect to work on AE 7.0 ? I installed it, but when I try to apply it, AE only tells me that the effect was created with a newer version of AE and wants me to update.

Its impressive indeed, you make it easy for us to use.
Now ik can make my own looks, instead of using excisting filters
BTW…

Is this still going to be released in
March?

you’ve certainly made being a newbie to the video world much easier and filled me with hope for my video endeavours.
Thanks so much for breaking down the concepts …

Thank you so much to create this preset. It looks very useful for my thesis project. However for some reason when i use the ColorCorrecter preset on one of my footage it gave me this error message:
“After Effects warning: Undefined value used in expression. Could be an out of range array subscript? Expression disabled.
Error occurred at line 0.
Comp: ‘footage_test’
Layer: 1 (’footage_test.mov’)
Property: ‘Shadow Red Balance’”
Any idea what is the reason causing this problem? is it my footage? or AE? or i didn’t install it properly? any idea?
Jack said this April 6th, 2008 at 3:10
You probably did install properly. I guess you’re using non-english version of After Effects. You’re not the first one to report a problem with presets. It’s always the same error message, and the reason is always non-english version of After Effects or Windows. Unfortunately I’ve never came across this problem myself therefore I can’t explain what you should do, but I did saw some people getting rid of this problem in the comments. Just read them carefully and I hope you’ll find out how to fix the problem. The answer is probably in PixelSampler or ShapeExtruder comments, since they are the most popular and the most expression loaded presets I made so far.
I hope you’ll get the problem solved.
Good luck.
