DVD is now official

Great news my friends! The day has come! I’m finally putting together my first training DVD. It will be a part of a great series by Motionworks – Making It Look Great.
The content of the DVD is planned, but I’m counting on your suggestions. Write your tutorial requests in the comments or use the contact form to send me an email. Examples of what you want to learn to do would also be nice along with the description.
The release date is still unknown, but I think that the DVD will be available for purchase by the end of July 2008. I hope you will enjoy watching the tutorials as much as I enjoy making them.

This is great news! We will benefit from your amazing tutorials and George will become a star!
I have one suggestion for a tutorial, DVD or otherwise: Using Photoshop’s Vanishing Point filter in After Effects. I’ve watched other tutorials that make it seem easy, but it isn’t quite so elegant in practice. I’d love to hear your advice on how to work with this effect.

i was thinking if each effect could be broken down into what it can do and its practical application e.g shatter effect. Can we create an earthquake effect, where we have our plane splitting into many pieces realistically. I know milg5 will be great as I enjoy your tutorials very much.

thanks for the circle effect. maybe looking at underused effects and basic techniques that makes it look great :)

DVD sounds great. I’d like to see the particles on fire tutorial continued to see how you would make the fire more realistic. I know you said it’s up to us to work out, but you always have such abstract ways of doing things that I’d never think of, and would like to see how you would do it. Out of curiosity, how long have you been working with after effects? or did you used to be a programmer or something?
